Christmas

Christmas traditions can become so disputed that Christ's coming is lost among the details. John centres the celebration on one decisive truth: God came in human flesh as Jesus, the true light entering a dark world. Many did not receive Him. Yet those who believe in His name become God's children, not through family background or human choice, but because God gives them new birth. Jesus grew up to die for sinners, so celebrating His birth means receiving Him as King, seeking His mercy, and praying that others will bow to Him. Bible Reference: John 1 Preacher: KJ Tromp
