Our next installment of our Christmas Classics message series is the modern classic, Elf. The movie is about Buddy, an orphan baby raised by elves in the north pole until he learns the truth that he is different. So he begins a humorous adventure of traveling to New York City to find his dad. Unfortunately, Buddy’s earthly father isn’t interested in a relationship with his long lost son. Praise God that with Christmas, Jesus re-writes the script! In the real Christmas story, Jesus’ birth is the evidence of our heavenly father pursuing us, longing for an intimate relationship. We do not ever have to fear our heavenly father’s rejection when we put our hope and our trust in Jesus.
