Christmas Eve winter storm, severe weather threat in the Carolinas [SPECIAL]

from Carolina Weather Group · host CarolinaWeatherGroup.com

An approaching strong cold front will bring periods of heavy rain - and even some winter weather - to the Carolinas for Christmas Eve Thursday.  While most of the Carolinas will see rain, some in the western North Carolina mountains and foothills could see snow. Those in the central and coastal parts of both North Carolina and South Carolina risk seeing thunderstorms and severe weather, including isolated tornadoes, and damaging wind. By Christmas Day, the wet weather is replaced with brisk, cold weather. Meteorologist Frank Strait has your forecast and severe weather timing.
