The revolutionary spark that began with a baby lying on straw in a manger ignited a movement that’s still going strong even to this day. Who Jesus is and what He came to do touches and changes the lives of all those who welcome Him as their Savior and Lord. He is the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace and the transformation business is what He’s all about. Join us this weekend as we celebrate the life change that’s possible in Jesus Christ.DISCUSSION QUESTIONS1. In Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol, many have seen a pattern of transformation that is still applicable today. In particular, the lessons of the three spirits that visit Ebenezer Scrooge and what they teach him on that famous night, are as follows;• Why we make the choices we do• Where our choices have led• Where our choices will lead Discuss or journal about how you identify with these or how your own journey has been different.2. The prophet Isaiah told us how we could recognize Christ.For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9.6 If God became human, I would expect Him to...1.  Speak the greatest words ever spoken (Wonderful Counselor)2.  Have an acute sense of difference from others (Mighty God)3.  Satisfy the spiritual hunger in people (Everlasting Father)4.  Have a lasting and universal impact on humanity (Prince of Peace)Pastor Keith gave a brief overview of some examples of these but there are many more. What other examples can you name? Which of these qualities have you found to be especially comforting or challenging to your life? How might these qualities be incorporated into your times of prayer and meditation? 3. We often doubt our belovedness to God, especially after we’ve fallen or failed. Why do people do this? Why is it difficult to believe that God’s love is constant, unwavering and based on a thorough knowledge of who and what we are? Based on Jesus’ prayer in John 17, He wants us to live in the intimate knowledge that we are loved as much and in the same way that He is loved. Do you live that way? Do you go through life confident in God’s love for you or not? What gets in the way of living in the love of God? What if you began living as if it were true (because it really is)? What difference would that make?4. Most people who come to know Jesus Christ in a personal relationship do so through an individual – not through a church service, television program, or literature. This means, the most effective witness anyone has is their own personal experience of coming to know Christ. Share with the group or write in your journal about that experience. What or who made the difference in your life? Have you ever shared your faith with another person?
