Christ's Return: Imminent, But Not Any-Second?

Contrary to what is sometimes assumed, Paul tells us that certain things of global significance have to happen before Christ returns. These things are not happening currently as far as we can see. If this is the case, then in what sense is Christ's return 'imminent'? Borrowing from John Piper, we look at three ways: 1) prophetically near; 2) divinely near; and 3) potentially near.
