Chronic Illness and Grief

from The Acorn - Oak and Stream Therapy Podcast · host Charlene Lekx

The Acorn is the podcast at Oak & Stream Psychotherapy Clinic. This podcast is for the life-long learner who is interested in self-help, improving their mindset, and personal growth. Most episodes are under 10 minutes long. However, the interview episodes are a bit longer. I want you to remember to pause, breathe, hope, and heal. You can check out more podcast episodes and blog posts at: https://oakandstreamtherapy.com In this episode I am interviewing Mya Moran, a psychotherapist from Ontario, Canada who specializes in chronic illness and perinatal mental health. Mya is a Registered Psychotherapist and the founder of Mindful Steps Therapy. Her journey to therapy has been shaped by over a decade in healthcare, which informs her client-centered approach. She believes in honoring each person’s unique path and supporting their authentic self through compassionate, non-judgmental care. In practice she supports clients navigating challenges like chronic pain and illnesses, trauma, perinatal mental health, grief and loss, anxiety related disorders, relational issues, professionals in high-performance and stress jobs, family conflict and big life transitions, co-creating a safe space for self-exploration and personal growth. Mya has focused her professional development and ongoing training in somatic therapy, IFS, ACT, and family systems. And she is in the final phase of her certification, ready to sit for the exam for Perinatal Mental Health through the Postpartum Support International.
