Chronicle of a Summer with Sophy Romvari
from 90 Minutes Or Less Film Fest · host 90 Minutes Or Less Film Fest
Sam Clements is curating a fictional film festival. He'll accept almost anything, but the movie must not be longer than 90 minutes. This is the 90 Minutes Or Less Film Fest podcast. In episode 166 Sam is joined by filmmaker Sophy Romvari. Her debut feature Blue Heron is in UK cinema from 26 June 2026. Sophy has chosen Chronicle of a Summer [Chronique d'un été] (90 mins). An early example of cinéma vérité, the documentary is a collaboration between sociologist Edgar Morin and filmmaker Jean Rouch. Sam and Sophy discuss moving from making short film to her first feature, working with real social workers on Blue Heron, and the balancing act between authenticity and story in her movie and Chronicle of a Summer.
