Als die Terrormiliz IS im Sommer 2014 in den Nordirak einfällt, überlebt Familie Qasim nur knapp. Sie sind Jesiden und gehören zu der Bevölkerungsgruppe, die der IS in diesem Krieg gezielt ermordet, entführt und versklavt. Erst viele Jahre später gelingt dem Ehepaar mit den vier Kindern die Flucht nach Deutschland – dorthin, wo die Politik Jesid:innen öffentlich Schutz versprochen hatte. Doch nun droht ihre Abschiebung. Sie seien Wirtschaftsflüchtlinge heißt es jetzt, ihre Heimat sei mittlerweile wieder sicher. Familie Qasim reicht Klage gegen den Ablehnungsbescheid ein. Anderthalb Jahre lang begleiten wir die Familie, besuchen sie zu Hause im brandenburgischen Lychen, sprechen mit ihren Anwälten und sind bei den Terminen mit der Ausländerbehörde dabei.
