Summary

"Chubby" is a hard rock guitar instrumental made up of a couple hook riffs I had laying around from earlier in the year that never got used. Sometimes I review old demos and find stuff that I glazed over that sounds really cool, or has potential. That said, this song's main guitar hook was one of those riffs. "Chubby", named for its FAT guitar tone and warm guitar solo changes modes a couple times to give it some vibe. For the most part this song is in A minor, but there is some Harmonic minor thrown in during the bridge and the solo reaks of Phrygian mode. That said, as with most of my tracks, I try to take you on a journey with them, rather than just write simple songs that lay flat and don't change-up much. While I try to keep the elements of my songs commercial, as I license them to TV and filmmakers, I also think you can play with modes and change grooves within the commercial sphere and still manage to keep the song viable for general public consumption.. We're getting close to the end of 2015 here, and it's been a great year for me both in the music industry and here on SoundCloud.
