Church at Home - Week Six: Matthew 17:14-20(21) (Tom Chapman-Smith)

from Morrinsville Baptist Church · host Morrinsville Baptist Church

This is Week Six of Church at Home and Tom Chapman-Smith will lead us through Matthew 17:14-20(21). There will be times to pause the recording (whenever there are questions) for discussion with those you are with and these questions are written in the description below. There is also a time of Communion in the second part of this message. Question 1. Read Hebrews 4:16 and take some time now to discuss what it would mean to come to  God with an approach true of this passage. “Therefore, let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].” - Hebrews 4:16 AMP Question 2. The Bible calls us to: "Prove yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish in the midst of a [morally] crooked and [spiritually] perverted generation, among whom you are seen as bright lights [beacons shining out clearly] in the world [of darkness]," - Philippians 2:15 AMP In response to what has been shared, discuss the content of this verse and what it would look like if we lived our lives accordingly? Feel free to use examples true of your own life. Communion As we remember this morning, take time to reflect on the promises we have in the bible. If you are comfortable doing so, speak these out loud or share testimony of His work in your lives. As we proclaim the gospel this morning, take time to consider just how good the Good News is that we have a loving Saviour! If you are comfortable doing so, speak out words of thanksgiving and praise. As we anticipate the return of Jesus, take time to humble yourself before God. If you are comfortable doing so, kneel down and bring your whole heart before God – all of your good and all of your bad. Seek His forgiveness and seek His holiness in preparation for His return. As we discern – take time to pray for the Church, locally and internationally.
