Church Discipline

from Open House Church Sermons · host KJ Tromp

When a church confronts serious sin, correction can feel proud, intrusive and unloving. Ignoring it is not loving. First Corinthians 5 says visible, influential sin spreads harm and dishonours God, the church and the gospel. Discipline protects the church, teaches what is right, and seeks the offender’s repentance and restoration. Even removal from fellowship is a last resort after gentler correction fails, used in hope that the person may return to Christ’s grace. Bible Reference: 1 Corinthians 5 Preacher: KJ Tromp
