Church Doubles Sneaker Giveaway for Students | St. Louis News

When the Agape Seventh-Day Adventist Church in University City launched its back-to-school sneaker giveaway, they started with 100 pairs—but saw such overwhelming need they doubled it to 200. Families had to register ahead and kids had to be present to receive shoes, ensuring help went to those who needed it most. Pastor Evenson Louis-Jeune says this is part of their mission to bless the community, especially children, as they return to school. The church plans to keep up these vital outreach efforts, believing that simple essentials like shoes can transform a student’s start to the year—and show how local groups are stepping in to meet urgent needs right where families live.
