Paul deeply cared about the new believers in Thessalonica. Timothy had reported on how vibrancy of their faith and the difficulty of their persecution. His first epistle was focused on giving them perspective as a persecuted church. Certainly all had much perspective to give. To close the letter, he encourages them to be persistent in their worship. Paul helps them and us to see that persecution should not be allowed to weaken our worship, but deepen it. Worship is ascribing worth to God. It is orienting our lives around God.
