Former WR/DB in highschool- stack backer- (ZT) good in coverage Round 4 (107): LB Akeem Davis-Gaither, App State Round 5 (147): Edge Khalid Kareem, Notre Dame Round 6 (180): T Hakeem Adeniji, KansasRound 7 (215): LB Markus Bailey, PurdueCAROLINA PANTHERSRound 1 (7): DI Derrick Brown, Auburn- Polticcal asp. Domintanted at auburn. Rhule- Physical force- dominated entire year in SEC against run & pass- Tremendous internal presence. Round 2 (38): Edge Yetur Gross-Matos, Penn State-Ma=toast- Rhule - rely young- played at  high level 266. Good production. Always looking for pr- versatile- edge/3tech-growing-strong side def end presence. Didnt think he would get out of 1st. Looked at high school even. 2 guys worked with him (joe brady). Round 2 (64): S Jeremy Chinn, SIU. Senior bowl- big fast= explosive - smart- safety in box at sb= played press man- versatile- thought he would be a first rounder.Good rdfender-ersatile-stop teMulti year captain- dont find many guys with size speed- positionless player- can utilize in multiple places.Traded a 5 to move up to get him.Didnt want to take chance he wouldnt be there in 6 picks- thought very highly ofRound 4 (113): CB Troy Pride Jr., Notre Dame- Within reason BPA- not gonna reach for someone (rhule)- Felt really good- from right down road- track athlete (into training)  - really mature- played alot of football ) - maturity to come in and help with littl etraining camp.  Ran 4.442- scouts brought him to him- senior bowl part. Round 5 (152): S Kenny Robinson, WVU* XFL- off the field ?s -  Talked to his HS coach- talked to head of ops at school- talked to XFL coaches- his coaches in XFL raved about him - was one of the only ones who was draft eligible- unique ball skills- made plays at college & pro level. Academic issue- we all grow up, we age , we mature (didnt hurt someone else). Round 6 (184): DI Bravvion Roy, Baylor. Hurney- big man who has really good feet (E-W-Shrine) - can play 3 - very light on feet for a man his size (look/fit 1 tech>?) Hurney- DL versatility- have 7 or 8 guys wo can rotate and keep team fresh- critical to success- more versatile better. Didnt get invite to combine- REALLY GOOD ATHLETE (Rhule) Seen his athleticism- felt good about versatility- Powerful guy- can’t fix everything- cant fix everything but can make a strength Healthy deep roon Round 7 (221): CB Stantley Thomas-Oliver, FIU Evan cooper pointed him out at combine- hass all the skills- someone we can develope. Note Addressed offense in off season- FA Extended CMC. Signed Bridgewater- Robby anderson. Rhule- player against him a louisville when he was at temple Hinted at defensive draft in pre-draft presser (rhule). (hurney) vision for how we’re building our defense. Matt Rhule (positionless players) (Played by Kevin James) - having a vision for how you are going to ue them- we can use them in multiple ways- it excise you- not short term fix guys- gonna get better- wanna have great strength- defensive line you have to be prepared for-make a strength a strength.
