Cinda Gault is a Canadian author with a long-standing interest in the lives and experiences of women. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Guelph, which led her to found an agency supporting victims of domestic violence.She later worked as a prison guard before completing an M.A. in Criminology at the University of Toronto. Her academic journey continued at York University, where she earned a Ph.D. in English, focusing her research on Canadian women’s writing during the “identity years” of 1965–1980.While researching another project, she explored the question of why Canada remained the only Western country without an abortion law, examining the answers through literary depictions.Cinda’s own writing career began in romance before evolving into independent literary and historical fiction.
