La figure de Jésus au cinéma est inépuisable, allant de récits fidèles aux Évangiles comme "Jésus de Nazareth" (1977) de Zeffirelli à des comédies comme "La Vie de Brian des Monty Python" (1979), en passant par des drames sociaux ("L'Évangile selon Saint Matthieu" de Pasolini, 1964) ou des superproductions hollywoodiennes ("La Passion du Christ", 2004). Cette variété de représentations reflète des interprétations diverses et met en évidence la force d'interrogation des figures fondatrices par le cinéma, capable de les ré-interroger sans cesse.
