CineNerds 140 - Obsession

💌 Be careful what you wish for. 🎬 This week on CineNerds we’re breaking down Obsession (2026), the breakout horror hit from writer-director Curry Barker. Bear, a lonely music store employee, uses a supernatural toy called the 'One Wish Willow' to make his childhood crush Nikki fall in love with him. His wish comes true... and then it gets terrifying. We dig into the dark comedy, nightmare fuel, and the brutal question at the center of it all: is love real if you forced it? With a 94-96% on Rotten Tomatoes, a $750K budget that grossed over $495M, and performances from Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette, Obsession is already being called one of the best horror films of 2026. Join us as we unpack toxic romance, Blumhouse-backed chaos, and why this YouTube-to-theater success is rewriting the rules. #CineNerdsPodcast #Obsession2026 #CurryBarker #Horror #PsychologicalHorror #Blumhouse #FocusFeatures #MichaelJohnston #IndeNavarrette #OneWishWillow #NewHorror #FilmPodcast CineNerdsPodcast.com
