CineNerds 146 - Crossroads

🎸😈 The blues ain’t nothing but a good man feeling bad. 🎬 This week on CineNerds we’re tuning up for Crossroads (1986) — the ultimate blues guitar showdown movie. Juilliard guitar prodigy Eugene Martone (Ralph Macchio) tracks down legendary bluesman Willie Brown (Joe Seneca) to help him find a lost Robert Johnson song — but to get it, they have to face the Devil himself in a cuttin’ contest. We’re breaking down Ry Cooder’s legendary slide guitar score, Steve Vai as Jack Butler — the Devil’s shredder — that final duel, and why this is one of the greatest music movies ever made. A Karate Kid with a Telecaster vs. Satan.
