from CineNerds Podcast Hosted by CineNerds Podcast
💊👁️ What does a scanner see? Into the dark. 🎬 This week on CineNerds we’re going deep into the paranoid haze of A Scanner Darkly (2006) — Richard Linklater’s rotoscoped Philip K. Dick nightmare. Keanu Reeves is Bob Arctor / Fred / Bruce — a narc who’s spying on himself and doesn’t even know it. Robert Downey Jr., Woody Harrelson, Winona Ryder, and Rory Cochrane trapped in a future where Substance D has shredded reality. We break down Linklater’s mind-bending animation, Dick’s devastating story about identity, addiction, and surveillance, and why this might be the most faithful and most heartbreaking PKD adaptation ever. If you don’t know who you are anymore… you’re right on track. #A ScannerDarkly #PhilipKDick #RichardLinklater #KeanuReeves #RobertDowneyJr #WoodyHarrelson #WinonaRyder #RoryCochrane #Rotoscoping #SciFi #Dystopian #SubstanceD #CultClassic #CineNerdsPodcast #FilmPodcast #MoviePodcast #PodcastNewEpisode Listen to more episodes and support the show: CineNerdsPodcast.com Patreon.com/CineNerdsPodcast Merch at: https://cinenerds-merch-store.printify.me/
