His latest book, STRAIGHT EDGE: A CLEAR HEADED HARDCORE PUNK HISTORY, is the first expansive oral history of the movement. Tony has previously written NYHC: NEW YORK HARDCORE 1980-1990 and Why Be Something That You’re Not: Detroit Hardcore 1979-1985 He also previously appeared on episode 49 of THIS VERY PODCAST!! Tony decided we would discuss 2017’s Girls Trip, a movie I fucking loved, so glad for that. We also spent a good deal of time discussing his new book and his process.
