The Box Elder County Commission on Wednesday denied a request from an East Garland landowner to allow half-acre homesites on nearly 20 acres, saying the proposal conflicted with the county’s Agricultural Heritage zoning adopted last year. Brody Calder told commissioners the designation does not work for his family’s longterm plans and said he may have to sell the property if it remains in place. “The whole plan of having this property was for our family,” Calder said.
