Pipestone City Council members during their July 20 meeting approved a commercial tax abatement policy. Mayor Dan Delaney said the policy is intended to serve as an incentive to bring new businesses to the city. “That’s something that we haven’t had in the past,” he said. “There’s tax abatement available for housing and development, but we didn’t have anything for new business.
