City of Jasper considers flying old state flag

The Jasper City Council during its July 21 meeting discussed using the previous Minnesota state flag rather than the one that became the state’s official flag in 2024. The city currently flies the new flag, but Mayor Kim Lape said there’d been talk among community members about reverting to the old flag. She said City Clerk/Treasurer Renae Jennings had reached out to the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC) about the matter, but had not heard back as of the July 21 meeting.
