City of Tshwane to be placed under administration

SAfm — The Gauteng provincial government says they will be placing the City of Tshwane under administration. This was announced today by MEC for Human Settlements and CoGTA Lebogang Maile in Johannesburg earlier today. Maile says among the reasons for placing the City under administration is as a result of it's frequency of unauthorized and irregular expenditure as per the Auditor General's report as well as the current financial crisis the City is faced with. Yesterday, the DA mayor, Stevens Mokgalapa and speaker, Katlego Mathebe were ousted in motions of no confidence. Maile says his department is finalizing plans to move forward with placing the City of Tshwane under administration.
