City revs up to celebrate 100 years of the Ben Franklin Bridge

The Ben Franklin Bridge is celebrating its 100th birthday on Saturday. It won't be much of a party for drivers because the bridge will close to vehicle traffic between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. But people who want to celebrate the bridge's history can walk across the roadway lanes between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., when the DRPA will have food trucks, vendors and activities. The Walt Whitman and Betsy Ross bridges will remain open, and PATCO trains will continue to run. (photo credit: Delaware River Port Authority)
