Adler leads us chronologically from the events of September 11th and the 9/11 Commission Report through several major pieces of legislation, such as the Homeland Security Act, the Patriot Act, Patriot II, the Military Commissions Act, and a number of laws directed to enhancing that national capacity to fight terrorism. Today we look into how al Qaeda was able to get off the ground. What did we know about al Qaeda activity before 9/11? What were we doing with that intelligence?
