Clare Gardaí Encouraging People To Call Out Friends And Family On Poor Driver Behaviour

People across Clare are encouraged to call out their friends and family if they witness poor driver behaviour this bank holiday weekend. A Garda operation has been in place since Thursday morning and will remain in place until Tuesday at the same time. Last year, Gardaí recorded a 10% increase in incidents of distracted driving, a 6% increase in the number of people not wearing seatbelts and a 4% increase in people driving while intoxicated. Superintendent with the Clare-Tipperary Garda Division, Eddie Golden, says everyone in a vehicle has a responsibility to ensure their safety on the roads.
