Clarence Thomas Names the Schools Where Conservatives Are “Off Limits” (Ep 812)
from Joey Hudson / Just The Truth · host Joey Hudson
Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson Today's show covers Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas' warning about ideological intolerance at some of America's most prestigious universities, the continuing national debate over transgender athletes competing in women's sports, and the developing race for a seat on the South Carolina Supreme Court. ⚖️ CLARENCE THOMAS NAMES NAMES Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas says there are elite American institutions where prominent conservatives essentially understand that they're not welcome. And Thomas isn't speaking in generalities—he named names. During a discussion hosted by the Hoover Institution, Thomas specifically talked about Stanford Law School and his experiences with other elite universities. Thomas said there are certain places that are simply considered "presumptively off limits" to conservative speakers. Think about that. Universities are supposed to be places where competing ideas are debated, challenged and defended. So what happens when students are increasingly exposed only to viewpoints that professors and administrators find acceptable? We'll examine Thomas' comments and the larger question of whether America's universities still value genuine intellectual diversity. 🏃♀️ AMERICA REMAINS DIVIDED OVER TRANSGENDER ATHLETES The battle over transgender athletes competing in women's sports continues across America. Fox News Digital recently spoke with Americans who offered sharply different opinions on whether biological males who identify as transgender women should be permitted to compete against female athletes. Supporters argue it's an issue of inclusion and equal treatment. Opponents argue there's a fundamental issue of competitive fairness because of the physical advantages associated with male puberty. We'll hear the arguments and discuss a question that's increasingly being decided by legislatures, athletic organizations and the courts: Can America protect opportunities for female athletes while also treating transgender Americans with dignity and respect? 🏛️ WHO WILL JOIN THE SOUTH CAROLINA SUPREME COURT? The race for a seat on South Carolina's highest court is taking shape. At least five judges have filed as candidates, including two sitting South Carolina Court of Appeals judges and the former wife of a late Republican state representative. Unlike most states, South Carolina voters don't directly elect Supreme Court justices. Members of the General Assembly ultimately choose them. We'll look at who's running, how the process works and why the selection of a state Supreme Court justice matters to every South Carolinian. 📩 Join our mailing list at JoeyHudson.com 📱 Firmin Ford Text Line: 864-477-JOEY (5639) Subscribe for daily political analysis, breaking national news, South Carolina politics and conversations about the issues affecting American families.
