Welcome to Clarinda, Iowa, where they "Honor the Past, and Imagine the Future". The town was founded in 1851 and incorporated in 1866. In it's early years, the town was best known as the home of Berry's Seed Company. It was a mail order seed company founded in 1885 in Clarinda. The town has a minor league baseball team, the Clarinda A's. The team has sent several players on to the major leagues, including hall of famer Ozzie Smith. The town has been called home by several other notables including big band leader Glen Miller and 4-H founder Jessie Field Shambaugh.
