Clark Surges Back to Five-Shot Lead | St. Louis News

Wyndham Clark bounced back from a shaky start with a blistering 65, including five birdies in eight holes, to seize a commanding five-shot lead heading into the final round of the BMW Championship. After a double bogey on the first hole, Clark’s caddie kept him grounded and focused, fueling a comeback that mirrors his U.S. Open surge. Rory McIlroy and Patrick Cantlay trail by 10 shots, with Cantlay’s FedEx Cup hopes riding on a strong finish. Gary Woodland, six shots back, is still in contention for season-long honors. Clark’s hot putting and momentum position him for his third win of the year—and possibly Player of the Year. Sunday’s outcome also determines Presidents Cup berths, with Clark likely locked in, but Cantlay and others still in the hunt.
