Clark’s Thrilling U.S. Open Comeback

Wyndham Clark stunned the crowd at Shinnecock Hills, clawing back from a six-shot deficit to win his second U.S. Open by one stroke over Sam Burns — a gritty, nerve-wracking final round that saw Clark’s lead vanish and then roar back with a clutch 30-footer on 16. Despite posting the highest final-round score by a U.S. Open champion since 2011, Clark’s resilience and clutch play earned him the title — and his second major in just one month. Burns fought valiantly with a 67, but missed key putts down the stretch, including a costly three-putt bogey on 15, sealing Clark’s dramatic victory.
