Crime and Science Fiction on a TuesdayFirst,  a look at this day in History.Then, Dragnet starring Jack Webb,  originally broadcast  July 21, 1949, 77 years ago, City Hall Bombing.  Vernon Carney is threatening to blow up City Hall with a bomb if his brother isn't freed from jail by nine o'clock.  The story would be reused a year later and on the Television show. Followed by The Big Story, originally broadcast July 21, 1948, 78 years ago, The Lottery Racket. The "big story" of Keeler McCartney of the Atlanta Constitution, who attempts to clean up a lottery racket and nearly gets killed for his efforts. Then, Calling All Cars,  originally broadcast  July 21, 1937, 89 years ago, Alibi.  A dangerous hold-up man is wanted.
