Three years after this broadcast, CONELRAD was replaced by the Emergency Broadcasting System (EBS).Finally a recording of the 1961 CONELRAD test, Operation Alert 1961 complete with message from President Kennedy. This recording was made directly off the air. The station was 1240 Khz WSBC in Chicago.
