With almost 40 years of experience in the energy sector, Mike Hopkins has dedicated my career to advancing the transition to clean energy faster and better. As the Chief Advisor and Legal Team Leader at Plus Power, he leverages his expertise in project development, finance, strategy, and leadership to support the company's vision of delivering reliable, resilient, and cost-effective battery storage solutions across the US. Previously, Mike was the CEO of Bakken Energy, where he transformed the company from a midstream natural gas player to an innovator in large scale affordable clean hydrogen and creator of the Heartland Hydrogen Hub. He also served as the CEO and co-founder of Ice Energy, the leading thermal energy storage company in the world, where he pioneered the market for energy storage and achieved the highest revenues in its history. Additionally, Mike has been an active board member of several startups in the clean energy space, such as Nelumbo, a nanotechnology and advanced materials venture, and OGL Engineering, a renewable energy engineering firm. He is passionate about commercializing the technologies and developing the projects that will change the world for the better.
