Cliffhanger Remake Starring Pierce Brosnan Officially Sets Release Date

A new sequel is already being developed for the upcoming reboot of the 1993 mountaineering film Cliffhanger. The modern reimagining features Lily James and Pierce Brosnan as a father-daughter duo facing a kidnapping plot in the Italian Dolomites. While the original movie famously starred Sylvester Stallone, he is not participating in this current iteration or its future follow-up. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, the project is currently in the post-production phase with plans for a theatrical and IMAX launch. Although producers are moving forward with a second film, it remains uncertain if the primary cast members will return for that installment. This expansion of the franchise highlights a continued interest in the high-stakes climbing genre several decades after the original's success. This episode includes AI-generated content.
