Climate change commission calls for more action from ministers

from Morning Report

New Zealand still doesn't know how it's going to pay to adapt to climate change, and any action taken to deal with hazards is poorly co-ordinated, that's according to the latest report from the Climate Change Commission. The Commission is urgently calling for action from Ministers. Local councils are among those asking for clearer guidance on funding, as they grapple with increasingly frequent extreme weather events. Deon Swiggs is the Chair of Environment Canterbury and is on the National Council of Local Government New Zealand. He spoke with Ingrid Hipkiss.
