He founded the Climate Migration and Managed Retreat Member Interest Group, at the American Society of Adaptation Professionals. Marchman has a Master’s degree in Marine Affairs from the University of Washington in Seattle. He is a Certified Environmental Planner and he lives in Kansas City MO.
