Cling: When You're Weary: Matthew 11:28-30

from Walk With Me · host Alisa

When we are weary, Jesus doesn't ask us to carry more. He invites us to come to Him. There's a kind of tiredness that sleep doesn't fix. You can be physically exhausted, but sometimes the deeper weariness is in your soul. You're tired of making decisions. Tired of waiting. Tired of being strong. tired of carrying something you were never meant to carry alone. Jesus doesn't respond to that kind of weariness with, "try harder." He says, "Come to me."Jesus invites weary people to Himself. Notice what He promises: not necessarily an immediate change in our circumstances, but rest for our souls. Sometimes we want God to remove the thing making us weary. While we should absolutely bring those requests to Him, sometimes the first gift He gives us is simply Himself. A place to stop striving. A place to breathe. A place to remember that we are not holding our lives together. He is. Clinging to Jesus doesn't always mean feeling strong. Sometimes it means admitting we have nothing left and wholly depending on Him. That's enough.Reflect: What are you carrying right now that you need to bring honestly to Jesus instead of continuing to carry it alone?
