They talk about the development and clinical trials process of 2 types of COVID19 vaccines and the part that Dr. Winokur and the UI played, and is currently playing, in studying the effectiveness of these vaccines. As an infectious disease specialist for the University of Iowa hospitals and clinics, Dr. Winokur is the principal investigator for the UI trial, the new COVID-19 vaccine, made by Novavax, and led the UI site clinical trial for the Pfizer bio and tech vaccine.
