From episode #23Derek Torrence was born and raised in sunny South Florida, where he received all his education. Originally planning on teaching, Derek began studying English at the local community college, but quickly switched to Information Technology and, ultimately, software development. Throughout his tenure as a software developer, Derek has worked for small businesses as well as corporate-level organizations. His love for organizing teams has followed him throughout this time.Derek has since left South Florida and moved to the Midwest, where he has found many similarities in the way that teams organize and deliver software. He is still a software developer, but has since started to specialize in software delivery processes.
