Close to the Cross: God’s Nearness in Trial | Daily Readings | April 4, 2025 | Friday of the Fourth Week of Lent

Today’s Scripture reflections for Friday of the Fourth Week of Lent:First Reading (Wisdom 2:1a, 12-22): The wicked conspire against the just one, whose life exposes their falsehoods and threatens their pride, unknowingly fulfilling the divine plan.Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 34:17-18, 19-20, 21 and 23): The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those crushed in spirit.Gospel (John 7:1-2, 10, 25-30): Despite threats and plots against Him, Jesus moves with divine confidence, revealing that His hour is yet to come.Through these readings, we are invited to recognize that standing for truth often brings opposition, but God’s nearness in trial strengthens and sustains us. During this sacred Lenten journey, we are called to walk closely with Christ even when the cross looms near.A ministry of Christus Dominus Bread of Life.Produced in collaboration with Christus Dominus Studios.
