Intersnack will acquire all of Utz’s Class A shares for $14.25 each, a premium of about 91% from the July 20 closing price. Entities controlled by the Rice and Lissette families will retain half of Utz, with Intersnack holding the other half. Utz shares rose 90% on Tuesday to trade near the offer price. The stock had tumbled over the past couple years amid concerns about pricing and waning demand in the salty snack category. The shares were trading above $14 a year ago.- General Motors (GM) shares rise 3.5% after the automaker reported second-quarter profit that topped analysts’ estimates and boosted 2026 guidance. The Detroit automaker said Tuesday it now expects its earnings before interest and taxes of as much as $16 billion this year. The upgraded projections came after GM said it made $3.57 a share, exceeding Wall Street analysts’ consensus forecast of $3.19, after buying back more shares.- Charles Schwab (SCHW) reported earnings that topped estimates as retail investors continued to jump in and out of the market amid volatility sparked by geopolitical uncertainty. Schwab reported a record daily average revenue trades and trading revenue also rose, with Chief Financial Officer Mike Verdeschi saying strong client engagement helped drive year-over-year revenue growth.
