CLR-E82: The Bloom - Brewing Experiments

from Coffee Lovers Radio - Make and Drink Better Coffee · host Extracted Magazine

One standard rule when it comes to brewing pour over coffee is to let it bloom for 30 seconds. The bloom is the releasing of gasses at the beginning of the brew. Typically you would add 1:1 or 2:1 water to grounds, let the gasses release for 30-45 seconds, and then brew with the rest of your water. Well a happy accident one day revealed a delicious result by significantly extending the brew... So on this show, Jesse and I compare a 4 minute bloom and 30 second bloom. Is there a difference? Find out... Hosts: Joseph Robertson - Coffee Lovers Magazine - https://www.coffeeloversmag.com Jesse Nelson - Conduit Coffee - https://www.conduitcoffee.com This is a public episode.
