CMP: Power Outages

We speak with Dustin Wlodkowski with CMP with current power outages as of 6:35am this morning affecting over 18,000 homes due to strong winds. Overnight, crews restored power to more than 16,000 customers, but 30,000 have lost power in total. The main issue is fallen trees and limbs, exacerbated by southerly winds. Crews are working to clear roads and assess damage, with a focus on safety. Restoration efforts will continue, but progress may be hindered by persistent winds over 30 mph. The heaviest impact is in Cumberland County and Piscataquis. CMP assures that crews will work around the clock to restore power to all affected customers.
