Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Co-Owner of Smoke Jazz in NYC Paul Stache .. We caught up Paul to get into the history and upcoming celebration of 25 Years of one of New York’s best jazz clubs. Paul and his wife Molly are married and live a few blocks from the club. They met when they were both working at the club’s predecessor: Augie’s. SMOKE led the vanguard of live streaming during the pandemic with SMOKE Screens series. It’s top-notch, high quality streaming is still available for most concerts. It was closed for two years during the pandemic. It reopened bigger and better than ever. April 10-14 marks the official 25th anniversary and both George Coleman and Joe Farnsworth opened the club 25 years ago. They both return 25 years later. We get into all of this and much more.
