Coach Nemo has a Conversation with Cobi

Cobi sits down with Coach Nemo Washington—Delaware State’s offensive coordinator, former Bowie State QB, and NFL Diversity Coaching Fellow with the Cleveland Browns—opens up like never before. From growing up in Atlanta and Seat Pleasant, to battling a rare brain cyst in college, to being spiritually redirected from player to coach, Nemo’s journey is one of calling, adversity, and grace. He talks about Coach Damon Wilson saving his career, how Deshaun Jackson’s staff energized DSU football, and the 65+ years of NFL experience now sitting inside the Hornets’ meeting room. We also dig into: – How DSU built its identity through “dog mentality,” detail, and resilience – His “Slide First” offensive philosophy – What makes a real “dog” on film – How NFL scouting, detail, and professionalism shape his coaching – The dual identity of Coach Washington: calm off the field, pure fire on it – Why relationships, faith, and family keep him grounded – Why HBCU coaches belong on NFL staffs—and which ones deserve a shot This is storytelling. This is vulnerability. This is HBCU football culture at its best. If you love HBCU football, MEAC storylines, Bowie State legends, or Delaware State’s rise under DeSean Jackson… this interview is a must-watch.
