Hello and welcome back to another episode of Broken Record. My name is Ellie, I'm your host, and today we're going to be talking about Coachella. So Coachella is a music festival that takes place in Coachella Valley, which is in Palm Springs, California, and it's an iconic music festival, the greatest of all time I've played there. It's really known for its social scene, like this is the main festival that celebrities go to, and it's just an iconic festival, and it's great people watching.
And so I wanted to talk about it because I actually get to go this year. I'm going with my friend Jenna, and I'm so excited, and this is going to be the last episode until after Coachella happens, so I wanted to talk about it now, and then I'll review it after, give some audio clips, but I'm really excited. So the headliners this year are Bad Bunny, Blackpink, and Frank Ocean. I'm most excited for Frank Ocean because I love his music, and I'm so excited to hear him perform live.
He like rarely ever does live performances, and so I'm so excited and happy that I get to hear him perform live. Some other people that are performing are Blondie, which I'm also so excited for. I love Blondie, I'm so excited to hear their music. Wet Leg is performing, Test Pilot, Suicide Boys, Boy Genius, I'm so excited for.
Rosalia, I'm really excited for her as well. The Kid Leroy, Underworld, York, Kelly Ukes, Dominic Fyke. I'm so excited to hear him perform live. I love his music.
Willow's also performing. It's, I'm so excited. These are all like, I'm really glad that these people are performing in the festival because I was like, some of these people I like would be interested in hearing live, but I wouldn't necessarily want to pay a lot of money to see them in a standalone concert. So getting to see like just a shorter set and also like a whole bunch of other people's sets, it's really like a happy medium, and I'm so excited.
I'm so excited. This is gonna be so fun. I'm so excited. I'm going the first weekend, which is April 14th through 16th, and I am so excited.
I can't wait to see everyone's outfits because everyone just always goes all out, and it's going to be amazing to see what people wear. I'm so excited to hear everyone's sets. Usually the headliners bring out someone, bring out a guest when they perform, and so I'm hoping that happens this year. I don't know who they would bring out or what they would sing, but I hope it happens, and I'm excited to see who it is if it does happen.
I'm excited to hear Bad Bunny perform. He's headlining on Friday. I'm not really, I don't listen to his music regularly, but I've heard some of it and I've liked it. I think he's a good performer.
He opened the Grammys, I believe. I remember liking his performance, and I'm excited to see him perform in person. This is so exciting. I just, Coachella has always been like just something on my bucket list.
Like it's just always been something I've wanted to do. Me and my friend Jenna have been wanting to go together since we were in middle school, like sixth grade, and we're now juniors, so I'm so excited to be going with her. But it just hasn't worked out. Like either I was too young, or the lineup wasn't good, or it was too hard to get there.
But I'm going now, and I'm so excited. I feel so lucky. I'm really excited to see what happens. I'm excited to be on Coachella Grounds, and I'm so excited for the wristbands.
Like this is just such a silly thing to get excited over, but I just love the wristbands that everyone wears. They're like literally tickets. I don't know. It just makes me feel cool.
I'm so excited. I mentioned this earlier, but I'm so excited because Boy Genius is playing. Boy Genius is a band consisting of Phoebe Bridgers, Julian Baker, and Lucy Dacus, and I'm so excited to get them perform live. They released an album a couple years ago, but they haven't really done anything since then, but they recently released a new album called The Record, and I'm so excited to hear them perform.
It's going to be so exciting. I saw Phoebe Bridgers perform over the summer, and her concert was absolutely amazing. I loved it so much. It was just an incredible experience, and so I'm so excited to see Boy Genius perform.
I'm excited to see Phoebe perform again. I'm excited to hear their songs perform live. It's going to be so exciting. I'm so excited.
Oh my gosh, I forgot. Labyrinth is also performing. I'm so excited to hear him perform. If you don't know, Labyrinth is like, there was a song that went viral a little bit ago from the show Euphoria.
It's called Still Don't Know My Name, and Labyrinth made that record with Zendaya, and it's incredible. I love it so much. He also has a song Mount Everest and Forever Formula. He has produced some insane songs, and they sound so magical, and I'm so excited to hear them live.
It's going to be so exciting. I'm just so excited to see everyone perform live. I'm so excited. This is going to be so fun.
But yeah, I'm so excited. I'm so excited. And I'm so excited to see what celebrities come to. I hope I see at least one celebrity, because that's just fun to say that you've seen a celebrity in person before, but that's incredible.
I'm so excited. This is going to be such a fun festival. Luckily, I'm going with Jenna, and her family has a house in Palm Springs, so luckily we don't have to worry about booking a way overly extensive hotel. But I'm so excited.
This is going to be so fun. I'm so just overjoyed that I get to go. It's so exciting. Coachella is just iconic.
You just have to go there at least once in your life, and I'm so excited. This is going to be so fun. And then I'm excited for the next episode. The next episode on the show will be a review of Coachella.
