coachella

hello welcome back to another episode of broken record my name is ellie i'm your host and today we are going to be talking about coachella because coachella ended this past weekend and i thought it'd be fun to talk about it so harry styles billy eilish and swedish house mafia and the weekend headlined um coachella swedish house mafia and the weekend co-headlined sunday and they originally weren't supposed to do kanye west was supposed to do but he dropped out two weeks before coachella started because he didn't want to go on stage in the midst of his divorce with kim kardashian so coachella had to scramble and find two people and find people to cover um but yeah i think they did a good job i think it's very impressive that they were able to pull together a set and performance like in two weeks because coachella's a big deal and headlining coachella is an even bigger deal um so kudos to them but yeah i want to talk about harry's set harry styles one man he i absolutely loved both of his coachella performances i think they were so good you could tell he was having so much fun on stage it was just so cool to watch um and yeah it was awesome so weekend one he brought out shania swain which is just a whole thing in itself shania swain and harry styles so good together um i love when they sang together i thought their voices sounded very well yeah she came out to man i feel like a woman and then they sang still the one together and i thought it was super cute it was adorable it was so fun harry styles also sang two new songs which is incredible so harry styles has a new album coming out on may 20th called harry's house and he's released one single as it was i'm sure you've heard it and after so he opened the show with as it was and then a little bit into the show he was like i want to play a new song for you so he's saying boyfriends which is the name of the song it's kind of slower it's very pretty it's very sad and vulnerable um and then he sang that song is great and then a little bit later in the show he was like surprise i'm gonna sing another one so he sang another new song called late night talking and i think that one is so fun like it just makes me want to dance it's like i love the course of it it's kind of good um but yeah i loved his performances they were so cool also i loved his outfits um harry styles came out in he had a like sequined jumper it was like a black jumper that had like rainbow sequins on top of it and it was the most beautiful thing i've ever seen it was so cool um and he had like a big fur coat not fur coat like feather coat but it was just like pretty big um he wore that for the beginning like when he came on stage and then he took it off in the middle of as it was which was the first song he sang and it was so cool and then week in two harry styles brought out lizzo which is so fun i love their friendship i think they're so fun um they make each other laugh which i love because i love when um like celebrities are authentically friends and not like just putting it on for the camera but yeah i loved it um lizzo and harry saying i will survive together which was so fun and then they also sang what makes you beautiful which was incredible i loved it so much harry styles but we can do came out in a like i want to say cowboy but it's not really cowboy he came out in like it was like the whole outfit was pink and silver but he had leather pants a leather jacket and a leather vest and all and like he had he had his initials on like where the pockets would be on the pants and it was so cool it was like bedazzled hs and it was so fun um he also had um like bedazzled strawberries and cherries all over his outfit because like he has songs that like reference fruits and he has a song called jerry and there's a lyric in watermelon sugar that's like um that talks about strawberries and i thought it was funny it was a very cute outfit yeah and then billy eilish performed on saturday and i love it so much billy eilish billy brought out damien albarn from gorillas and they sang getting older and then getting older which is billy's song and then they also sang feel good inc which is a girl's song and that was really cool billy i loved i absolutely love billy i think she's she's such a good performer it's insane to me but like production value that she has in her performances um she's currently on tour right now so she had her tour set like during coachella which was very cool i feel like that's good because she was able to like reach more people if that makes sense i talked about it in my last episode but she had like a crane style type stage where she there was at some point during the show she like went into a different part of the like stage and she was lifted up and she like was like flown over people if that makes sense like she wasn't in a heart or anything but there's a platform that lifted and like spot around so she could like reach different parts of the audience which i think is really cool um she also brought out oh i forgot to mention this she also brought out khalid for their song that they have together called lovely and i think it was really cute because when billy played coachella in like 2019 or something i believe she brought out khalid as well to sing lovely and so i thought that was a cool little reunion moment um but yeah it was super cool and then for a week and two billy brought out hayley williams who is a part of paramore and they sang happier than ever and misery business happier than ever is billy's song misery business is hayley or paramore's song but hayley williams is a part of paramore and yeah it was super fun and i loved billy's reactions to bringing out both damon and hayley because she just you can tell she loves them so much and that made her happy and it made me happy um some also things that were pretty iconic is that rockhampton did their last performance um rockhampton is a band that was like founded in 2010 and they just did their last performances at coachella and that was really sad but i feel like coachella is a cool way to like end your career like a little send-off but yeah and then olivia o'brien i love her she's very funny um she brought out logan paul while singing a song about logan and i thought it was very funny she has a song called jocelyn that is about like basically her ex cheating on her with a girl named jocelyn that's not her real name but um that's the name for the song and people have speculated that it was logan paul for a long time but i don't think she ever confirmed it and then during the coachella set she when she was singing jocelyn logan paul came out and there's a lyric in the song that's called i hope it wasn't worth it and then um logan paul came out and he had a sign that said it wasn't worth it and i thought that was really funny um and then someone i also want to give like an honorable mention to not that i'm qualified to give honorable mentions but someone that i just want to talk about is doja cat she performed on sunday and she had such a good set doja cat is such a good performer i never seen her like i never seen like a full set of hers before i've seen the clips and stuff but she was really cool she had a lot of cool outfits and she was just very mesmerizing to watch so she had dancers and i think she brought out taiga it
