Coaching High Achievers

from John Scott Lawton's English, you know ... · host John Scott Lawton

Hello and welcome to my podcast John Scott Lawton's English, you know. In this episode, I interview Michaela Smith a Leadership, Mindset and Transformational Coach. Michaela has recently established herself as a professional, accredited coach focussing on working with high achievers; people who are driven to succeed and to have an impact, but who often suffer burnout because of the intense pressure they put on themselves to be successful. Together we discuss the concepts of self-talk; self-doubt; self-awareness; burnout; mastering your heart and mind; and the role that listening to our gut feelings and intuition have to play in the decision making process. Michaela helpfully defines the differences between coaching, therapy, consulting and mentoring. She considers the roles of the coach and the coachee, that is the person being coached. Michaela outlines the possible impacts that coaching might have on the individual and the benefits that can accrue.
