Kit Marie picks up a community coffee with Elly Platt, and chats about the textile history in south London, sustainable fashion, the geography of Tolkien’s Middle-Earth, amongst other things!Elly Platt is a costume maker and textile artist, who creates works of wearable art and other embroidered installations using lost or discarded textiles. Her work focuses on the way we interact with our environment, and our relationships with our clothes. She is passionate about sustainable fashion and vintage clothing, but embarrassed about the size of her mending pile.
